Dubai: the one city on this network where the law is not on your side
Every other page in this network describes a legal grey zone of some kind. This one does not, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. In the United Arab Emirates, sex outside marriage and any commercial sexual activity are criminal offences for both parties. The penalties include imprisonment, fines and deportation for non-citizens, and enforcement is not confined to public space.
That is the beginning and the end of the legal position, and no arrangement, no hotel, no intermediary and no reassurance from anyone changes it. If you are in Dubai, the only sensible reading of the law is the literal one.
Why the warning matters more here
Because the second layer of risk in this city is extortion, and it is built directly on the first. When an activity is criminalised, the people who exploit it do not need violence - they need only the threat of exposure. Blackmail attempts, staged photographs, and demands for payment "to keep it quiet" are the pattern that repeats in every jurisdiction that criminalises this, and Dubai is no exception. A man who cannot go to the police is the ideal target, and everybody involved knows it.
What this site does and does not do
Verified here means one thing, and it is the thing that goes wrong most: a face and body video review, watched by a person, before the profile went live. It is not a health certificate and it does not make an evening good, which is still your part. It removes the failure that starts almost every bad story, which is that the woman at the door was never the woman in the photographs.
The city itself
Dubai is a genuinely excellent place for an evening on its own terms: the hotel bars are among the best in the world, the restaurant scene is world class, and the Marina and Downtown are built for exactly this. Everything in the guides on this site - the hotels, the bars, where to test, what a scam looks like - is written to be useful whatever you decide to do with your evening.
Read the law page before the others. In this city it is the one that matters.
